چکیده

We consider orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in a multiple input single output (MISO) system. In the presence of spatially uncorrelated time-varying frequency selective channel, we use subcarrier by subcarrier antenna selection using delayed feedback. We derive closed-form expressions for the pdf of the received SNR and BER for MQAM constellation. The expressions have been obtained as a function of the correlation ( ) between perfect channel state information (CSI) and delayed CSI, where 0 ≤ ≤ 1. We have verified our analytical expressions by comparing them with simulation results. We have also reduced the BER expression for some special cases and compared them with the results available in the literature. We conclude that the diversity gain of the considered system is reduced to one for < 1, i.e. not having perfect antenna selection for each subcarrier. However, we get some coding gain compared to single input single output system, the coding gain reduces with decreasing the correlation. © 2013 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.

Performance Comparison of Overloaded MIMO System with and without Antenna Selection

This paper investigates the performance of an overloaded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system with and without antenna selection. In the overloaded MIMO-OFDM system, even if only a small amount of feedback is available, performance can be improved by selecting the transmit antennas. Thus, this paper compares the performance of an overloa...

This paper discusses the performance of antenna selection technique in space time turbo coded MIMO-OFDM systems. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology can either increase the data rate through spatial multiplexing or improve the reliability through diversity. Space-time turbo codes (STTC) have been proposed to provide robust communications in MIMO wireless environment. STTC technique...

Capacity-Maximization Based Variable Per-Tone Joint Transmit/Receive Antenna Selection for IEEE802.11n MIMO-OFDM Spatial-Multiplexing WLANs over Spatially-Correlated Ricean-Fading Channels

This paper focuses on capacity-maximization-based joint transmit/receive antenna selection scheme in IEEE 802.11n MIMO-OFDM WLANs with antenna arrays of higher-order modal SMP-SCP-ULA over spatially-correlated Ricean fading channels. As the selection signalling is perfectly fed back to transmitter we propose joint antenna selection and we use a flexible Two-Step Selection Algorithm (TSSA) at re...
